Arthur F. Powell
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Powell brings
over forty years of financing experience to his
client base, specializing in public finance.
Mr. Powell founded Powell Capital
Markets in August, 1990. The firmís business strategy
encompasses the provision of investment banking,
financial advisory services and lease financing services
to governmental entities including states, cities,
school districts, counties, local authorities,
commissions, hospitals, prisons, and educational
institutions. The high proportion of clients which that
have remained with PCM through multiple transactions
testifies to their appreciation of the expertise and
innovative thinking that Mr. Powell brings to their
financing challenges .
Prior to Powell Capital Markets,
Mr. Powell was a principal in the investment banking
firm of Grigsby Brandford Powell, Inc. where he was
responsible for the firmís marketing efforts in the
eastern half of the United States. Previously, Mr.
Powell served as President and founder of AGH Financial
Corporation, a financial services institution
specializing in equipment lease financings for municipal
and corporate clients in the northeast.
Mr. Powell is a
former member of the Newark Museum Board of Trustees,
the New Jersey Institute of Technology Board of
Trustees, St. James Preparatory School Trustee Board,
South Carolina State University Board of Visitors, The
Hospital Center at Orange Board of Trustees, NIDA, a
community development corporation sponsored by St.
Matthew A.M.E. Church, NJ Development Authority for
Small, Women and Minority Businesses, the Autism
Education Foundation of the Morris-Union Jointure
Commission and Seton Hall Leadership Institute.
Mr. Powell holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in Mathematics from Purdue University. He
maintains Series 52 and Series 53 licenses.
